My Teaching Philosophy

First and foremost, being a great teacher requires building a warm, trusting relationship with my students. For learning to occur, your child should feel safe to have fun, take academic risks, and not be afraid to make mistakes! I balance being a highly caring teacher with setting high expectations for my students. I am data-oriented and believe in making evidence-based decisions to ensure my students’ growth.

Elementary school is a time to help students develop their self-image as capable learners.  My blend of experiences in general and special education settings, paired with my commitment to staying up-to-date with effective Science of Reading strategies, enable me to help every child reach their fullest potential.
